Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xfce4-settings
Starting the xfce4-settings-helper is very slow. My eeePC 700 needed 40 seconds from Login to Desktop, after disabling the autostart of xfce4 -settings-helper this changed to just over 20 seconds. When I start xfce4-settings-helper from terminal it also needs ~15 seconds to get ready, only for the first ~5 seconds it uses the maximum CPU. I added an strace log from a start from terminal below. The system is a jaunty Xubuntu with "xfce4-settings" 4.6.0-1ubuntu2 runing on a eeePC 700 (900 MHz Celeron) whose /home is on a SD-Card. ** Affects: xfce4-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- xfce4-settings-helper is slow on startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363664 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
