Sorry, maybe I have not explain it well. The issue can be reproduced using any admin tool which needs to use the file dialog.
Examples: - System->Administration->Software Sources, Authentication tab, and click on "Import Key File..." button. A file dialog appears, with device names in the Places sidebar. (You can see an screenshot in http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25698461/software-sources-import-key.png ) - System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager, click on File->Generate package download script, and then click on Browse for other folders. Again, device names are shown in the Places sidebar. (I attach an screenshot.) According to that, I realized now that it seems to be a Gtk (or something similar) issue, not a Nautilus issue. Hope this is better explained than before. Thanks in advance. ** Attachment added: "synaptic-save-script.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25699971/synaptic-save-script.png -- Nautilus uses device names (floppy0, sda1) instead of humanized names (Floppy Drive, 151.8 GB Media) when running with admin rights https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
