Hi Leann, the result is the same using fast user switch applet or "sudo shutdown -h now": the computer reboots instead of shutdown.
Concerning previous versions of Ubuntu, I can unfortunately not tell you more. I just remember that I already had this problem several times these previous years with that motherboard. And that each time an update of the kernel finally solved the problem. The only thing I am absolutely sure is that it worked fine with Ubuntu 8.10 (I upgraded to 9.04 approximately one month ago). Another information: when I try the Xubuntu 9.04RC liveCD on that computer, the same problem appears. I remain at your disposal for any additional information. Thank you for your work. -- restart instead of shutdown (CUV4X-E motherboard) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/360424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
