Machines needs to be rebooted, SSH does not work (hard hang). It does not matter whether Compiz is enabled or not (crash happens with Metacity as well). I have so far been unsuccessful in trying to get at any crash output (or panic, if that's the case), because of the hard freeze. The Xorg config file is uninteresting since it does not contain anything (default).
