If you're noticing video stuttering in media players (with or without
audio stuttering), it's possible that your graphics hardware's MTRR
ranges aren't setup properly, which causes performance issues. It's
feasible that this may accentuate audio skipping slightly.

I suggest everyone take a look at bug #314928 (especially those with
Intel graphics adaptors) to see if you're affected.
