After upgrading to the latest beta 9.04 through update-manager, the problem
reappeared again. After the boot process, the screen remains black. It doesn't
go the a fail safe mode...
In the recovery mode, using xfix doesn't anything. Using a root shell and
invoking "startx", the screen remains black, Ctrl-Alt-Backspace doesn't have
any effect, only Sys-Rq key are working to reboot "safely"
By copying xorg.conf.failsafe to xorg.conf and invoking "startx", X failed to
start and dropped back to the shell.
By the way, in the root shell given by the recovery mode, "apt-get update"
fails to because dbus is not running, shouldn't be the case to start it
automatically even in the recovery mode ?
The video card should be the ATI Xpress 1250.
What about adding a feature to automatically send the xorg log file through the
network in order to ease debugging for the developer and to reduce the burden
of user ?
