I can't see any difference using the 45-latin.conf and 60-latin.conf you sent. Curiously, the 45-latin.conf file is exactly the same as mine:
r...@kadath:/etc/fonts/conf.d# diff 45-latin.conf ../conf.avail/45-latin.conf (didn't show any result, so they're identical) The 60-latin.conf was different: r...@kadath:/etc/fonts/conf.d# diff 60-latin.conf ../conf.avail/60-latin.conf 7d6 < <family>Bitstream Vera Serif</family> 8a8 > <family>Bitstream Vera Serif</family> 19d18 < <family>Bitstream Vera Sans</family> 20a20 > <family>Bitstream Vera Sans</family> 35d34 < <family>Bitstream Vera Sans Mono</family> 36a36 > <family>Bitstream Vera Sans Mono</family> I've tried changing all the options from gnome-appearance-properties, but I was unable to see any difference. I even tried removing the autohinting with: r...@kadath:/etc/fonts/conf.d# rm 10-autohint.conf and then changing the font rendering options. With autohinting disabled, the fonts looks as bad as with DejaVu. I'm using a LCD screen (Samsung SyncMaster 901N). Thanks anyway for taking care of this issue, Alexander. -- Autohinter should be enabled by default in Jaunty to avoid font rendering inconsistencies https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349850 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
