I've got this exact mouse as well, and it does not work on my up-to-date
Ubuntu Intrepid machines.

It does seem to actually work though, hardware-wise, and USB message-
wise: if I start Windows Vista in a QEMU (yes, I know, officially I'm
not allowed to do so), and directly "plug in" the device using the QEMU
control console with the command "usb_add host:05b8:3091", the mouse
actually works under Windows Vista. But not in Ubuntu, even after
Windows has got it working, neither while running the QEMU nor after
quitting it.

My Xorg.0.log shows that the mouse is indeed being detected as a mouse
that will be generating core events, but it just does not work.

Thanks for any insights into this issue. If I need to run tests with
this thing, please let me know ... although I cannot guarantee that I'll
have this mouse very much longer; I'm inclined to bring it back to the
store.
