Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amsn

When I use amsn_0.97.2~debian-2ubuntu1 from Jaunty, the webcam don't
work. I can't send my webcam to any IM contact.

When I click on Account->Preferences, Other tab, and then click on "Edit
audio and video settings" button, the "Audio and Video assistant"
appears. When I click on Next, aMSN displays an error message (I attach
an screenshot to illustrate it) and I'm unable to configure the webcam.

However, if I download and compile the upstream source code from:

  http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/amsn/amsn-0.97.2.tar.bz2

then the webcam works perfectly.

Moreover, if I use the amsn & amsn-data packages from Debian Sid:

  http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/amsn/amsn_0.97.2~debian-2_i386.deb

http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/amsn/amsn-data_0.97.2~debian-2_all.deb

then the webcam works perfectly, too.

Therefore, there's something in the Ubuntu packages which interferes
with the webcam support.
