This problem also appears in the forums at: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=7013162 There they report a number of the KDE packages being selected by adept for 'upgrade' which results in a number of other apparently unrelated packages being removed. Could this improper dependency listing be causing uninstallation of other packages via an Adept 'update'? Hmm...
