Miroslav ġurian, what laptop model do you have? Your method doesn't work for me
too :(
My system doesn't see bluetooth adapter. hcitool dev shows nothing:

# sa...@sasha-laptop:~$ hcitool dev
Devices:

# sa...@sasha-laptop:~$ sudo hciconfig hci0 reset
Can't get device info: No such device

Very strange, because laptop has bluetooth adapter.

sa...@sasha-laptop:~$ dmesg | grep Bluetooth
[ 1.100011] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.13
[ 1.104015] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[ 1.104018] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[ 5.566907] Bluetooth: L2CAP ver 2.11
[ 5.566908] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[ 5.566911] Bluetooth: SCO (Voice Link) ver 0.6
[ 5.566912] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized
[ 5.566966] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized
[ 5.566973] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized
[ 5.566974] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.10
[ 20.082986] Bluetooth: BNEP (Ethernet Emulation) ver 1.3
[ 20.082989] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast

So, Ubuntu 9.04 beta1 with latest updates can't see adapter too.
