Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hotkey-setup

I am submitting this bug after trying to follow what's mentioned in:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HotkeyResearch

However, my problem is not that some of the hotkeys are not recognized.
It doesn't seem like they are even detected. When running xev, nothing
changes when I press certain hotkeys on my laptop:

Here's the system-manufacturer, system-product-name and system-version
reported by dmidecode.

  Sony Corporation
  VGN-T140P(UC)
  J000GRM8

Not all hotkeys on the laptop go undetected. There are following buttons
on the laptop, along with their detection status:

  * Next (Detected, works)
  * Previous (Detected, works)
  * Stop (Detected, works)
  * Play/Pause (Detected, works)
  * DVD (Not detected)
  * Volume Up (Not detected)
  * Volume Down (Not detected)
  * Mute (Not detected, but works because I think it is handled outside of the
OS)

I am attaching the part of the xev output that appears when I press the
first 4 keys in that sequence. When I press the rest of the keys,
nothing appears in xev output.
