Public bug reported:

I’m using Kubuntu 9.04 Beta on an AMD 64. With today’s update to KDE
4.2.2, German translations which were formerly there got lost. For
example, the various items in the system setting’s main window are in
English now.

As a general remark, I wonder why Kubuntu often has notable problems
with translation. I thought that KDE already comes with complete German
translation. At least, under Debian, I had hardly any problems with
missing translations. Kubuntu’s lack of translations is especially
surprising since one of Ubuntu’s key features shall be that it’s
available in all kind of people’s native language.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
