To be honest I have some mixed feelings about this. Although it is a bug
fix only release, that doesn't mean that we can guarantee the absence of
regressions. However, it does fix a range of hard bugs, so if we go for
this, please let's get it in today, to get as much testing as we can.

Can we agree to roll back to the current version and just apply some
selected backports (such as the one in bug 341898) if this causes any
regression at this point?
