I don't think the problem is in powernowd because the bug still occurs for me in Jaunty and AFAIK there is no powernowd process running on Jaunty.
My laptop specs are: Sony Vaio CR220E Intel X3100 3gb RAM Intel Core 2 duo I have experienced this bug on Ubuntu versions from Dapper right up to Jaunty. I wish something could be done about this.
