Public bug reported: I know there is a bug when installer tries to use Estonian locale, but toda I was only able to install Ubuntu Dapper to laptob using ONLY US locale and telling installer that I have an US keyboard. Any other combination made installer just crash in partitioning phase (Location US, keyboard UK or EE, Location UK, keyboard EE).
And if I did not partition manually my hard drive, none of uploaded kernels show up in grub list, default kernel only. I had similar problem with another computer that made it unbootable with just a vague error message: "invalid range end" which, as much as I understand, means that kernel is installed too far from boot sector. But that is just the situation default install creates with only two partitions - one for swap and one for anything else. Sorry if that was vague, I will provide you any details I can recall. That all said, all my hardware was detected correctly, wireless card, hibernate and screen dimming, sound etc etc - it just worked. But with one kernel only. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- there is something seriously wrong with installer https://launchpad.net/bugs/53031 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
