Public bug reported: gnome-display-properties doesn't list resolutions larger than 1280x1024 and I cannot set proper resolution (1920x1200) for my external monitor.
With intrepid I had found a workaround http://orvils.blogspot.com/2009/03/ubuntu-un-lielie-monitori.html but that doesn't work anymore the following command works and adds new mode to the xrandr listings, but I cannot activate it xrandr --newmode "1680x1050_60.00" 147.14 1680 1784 1968 2256 1050 1051 1054 1087 -HSync +Vsync Here is the output when I try to activate my new mode. (worked before) $ xrandr --output VGA --mode 1680x1050_60.00 xrandr: cannot find mode 1680x1050_60.00 ubuntu-bug -p xrandr this tells that xrandr doesn't exist ** Affects: xrandr (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot set proper resolution for external monitor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352418 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
