Public bug reported: Testing the 9.04 beta CD on a system that has a Delta 1010 card:
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta1010.html It's an ICE1712 (Envy24) card that works very well on Linux - it worked pretty well for me on Fedora and Ubuntu for several years. The only thing special is that is has many inputs and outputs and there's no concept of "main" outputs or inputs - they are more or less equal. In general, the output channels 1 and 2 are grouped together by the OS to form the default stereo output. With 9.04 beta I do get sound on output channels 1 & 2 (tested with the media player and an online music service), but the volume control and the Sound setting application (from System / Preferences / Sound) don't work at all. There's no Volume applet on the panel. If I try to add one, it does not show up. If I try to start the Sound application, it never does - it just hangs and nothing shows up on the desktop. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- sound control issues on 9.04 beta with a Delta 1010 card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352109 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
