Public bug reported: I use Kubuntu 9.04 beta on an AMD64. My video card is presented by lspci as follows:
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon XPRESS 200M 5955 (PCIE) My computer is a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 1950G laptop. Recently, I had KDE desktop effects enabled and started OpenOffice. At the time where the main window was expected to show up, the system froze and the LCD screen of my laptop started to gradually get more and more white. When it was almost totally white (or, more exactly, light grey), the contents of the screen started to gradually show up again but in wrong colors. To me, it didn‘t look as if the contents of the video memory were changed. Instead, it looked to me as if the LCD display was driven in a fundamentally wrong way. Maybe the LCD elements getting much too high voltages or whatever. I don‘t know. I actually don‘t really know how an LCD works. ;-) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- LCD screen getting gradually white https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351998 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
