@Benn, this is not the default GNOME behaviour, but when you install a new application on your machine and it does not appear on menu, try this as a workaround:
1. Right-click on the main menu bar 2. Choose "Edit menus" or type Alt+F2 on the keyboard and entry "alacarte" (without quotes) 3. On the "Menus" tree list at left, try to find which group your new application belongs to and click on it 4. Locate your application on the "Itens" at right. Yes, you will see it marked as being shown on the menu, but... 5. Disable it and enable it again by clicking on the application's checkbox and close the menu editor 6. Your fresh installed application is now being shown on the GNOME menu -- installing lyx does not create gnome menu entry jaunty 9.04 beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/350856 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
