I've noticed this problem occurs in Edgy with XEmacs21-gnome-nomule but not with XEmacs21-nomule. (I haven't tried the mule versions)
A simple work around is to add the following line to your startup file : (bury-buffer "*scratch*") -- XEmacs always opens on *Scratch* https://launchpad.net/bugs/50396 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
