Public bug reported: Since a few days suspends does not work anymore, which it used to do (resumes as well). If I press the sleep button I'm instead presented with the GDM login screen.
I found the attached report in /var/crash (I was never prompted to send anything automatically) and hope that it's relevant and helpful for this regression. The computer is a Thinkpad T60p. $ cat /proc/version_signature Ubuntu 2.6.28-11.36-generic $ uname -a Linux stoffe-t60p 2.6.28-11-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 20 19:40:40 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=9.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=jaunty DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)" Updated as of today.
