** Changed in: brasero (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: brasero (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) ** Description changed: Brasero burns an incorrect md5sum which is identical for all users. However, the cd or dvd is fully functional, and when running check cd for defects from the live cd, 0 errors are found. Just my guess, does brasero use the info hash from the bittorrent client instead of the md5sum? I used transmission but deleted the torrent files. - - I am using the proposed version on intrepid. The brasero-dbgsym package - is uninstallable: - - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/334043 - - This is a very serious problem as no backtraces can be obtained this - way. I experienced the same problem for update-manager in Intrepid and - for bzr in jaunty. Usually bug triagers just close this down although it - should be confirmed, as they cannot install it either. Other users reported this problem as well: Mandriva (bugzilla): https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=46741 ubuntu-fr forum: http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=246622 When running brasero without md5sum, the problem does not occur. Please notice that I have two versions of brasero installed, see screenshot brasero.png. I used the highlighted icon. Please also notice that grab current window does not work for take screenshot 10 s for right click windows, another (whishlist) bug? - I installed that version, because of my serpentine bug: - - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/serpentine/+bug/332725 tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ md5sum /dev/scd0 387a863b41d0bfd03382f83f3df58d96 /dev/scd0 tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ ls -la /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.04.1-dvd-i386.iso -rw-r--r-- 1 thomas thomas 4224499712 2009-02-23 23:59 /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.04.1-dvd-i386.iso tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ md5sum /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.04.1-dvd-i386.iso 5fddb647c1945b20055d751576dea8fc /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.04.1-dvd-i386.iso tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ md5sum /dev/scd0 f3e68023f2780d4d248e4417d8c1e332 /dev/scd0 tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ ls -la /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.10-dvd-i386.iso -rw-r--r-- 1 thomas thomas 4598673408 2009-02-23 23:47 /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.10-dvd-i386.iso tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ md5sum /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.10-dvd-i386.iso 26fd54a27a30d237c05b649b41f1c760 /home/thomas/Desktop/ubuntu-8.10-dvd-i386.iso tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ lsb_release -rd ; uname -a ; date ; apt-cache policy brasero Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 Linux thomas-laptop 2.6.27-12-generic #1 SMP Thu Feb 5 09:26:35 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux Wed Feb 25 01:20:00 GMT 2009 brasero: Installed: 0.9.1-0ubuntu3~intrepid1 Candidate: 0.9.1-0ubuntu3~intrepid1 Version table: *** 0.9.1-0ubuntu3~intrepid1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-backports/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.8.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages tho...@thomas-laptop:~$ ** Changed in: brasero (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Brasero creates faulty md5sum, but 0 errors when check cd for defects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/334123 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
