I am struggling with this issue on Hardy Heron (8.04). Kernel version 2.6.24-23. Tried all the workarounds mentioned in the comments including adding the following lines to sysctl.conf: net.ipv4.tcp_window_scaling=0 net.ipv4.tcp_wmem = 4096 16384 131072 net.ipv4.tcp_rmem = 4096 87380 174760
Turning off ipv6.
