The solution I found was burn with Disc-At-Once mode (with cdrecord) when burning (the same) ISO file. Burning in Track-At-Once (TAO) mode made the CD unusable. Can't tell if it's the CD burner that burned it wrong the (several) times I burned it using default (TAO) mode, but, as I said, burning a single time with DAO made it work to boot up.
