Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
When testing a Jaunty beta install (from USB thumb drive) on a Toshiba Satellite L40-14N laptop, wifi didn't work. The AP is found, and after selecting it, one of the two green dots appeared in nm-applet, and I was asked for password (network has WPA and WPA2 I think), but got no connection then. I'm sure the password was entered correctly. The laptop has a Realtek RTL-8187b chip (vendor ID: 0x0bda, product ID: 0x8197) which works with ndiswrapper under Hardy and with some native driver out-of-the-box under Intrepid Live CD. This is with linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic 2.6.28-11.36 and network- manager 0.7.1~rc3.1.git4cf2da146-0ubuntu1 . Please tell me what further information you need; but it might take a while until I can get it. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Jaunty, rtl8187b: wifi doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346987 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
