A solution without resorting to xmodmap: Switch "Generic 105-key (Intl) PC" in System > Preferences > Keyboard > Layout - Keyboard model to "evdev keyboard" (From http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-966519.html). After that all multimedia keys work flawlessly on my Keyboard.
