The problem reappeared, but only for Gwenview. Kate and Okular open files with accents normally.
Reproducing: 1 - Create folder ~/Test 2 - Save two images in this folder. One called test.jpg, another called tést.jpg (with accent) 3 - Try to open them with Gwenview. The one with accent doesn't work (see screenshot attached) 4 - Rename the folder to ~/Tést (with accent) 5 - Try to open the images, none of them open now because there's an accent in the path Info: vi...@seattle:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release: 9.04 vi...@seattle:~$ uname -a Linux seattle 2.6.28-11-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 18 21:39:57 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux vi...@seattle:~$ apt-cache policy gwenview gwenview: Installed: 4:4.2.1-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 4:4.2.1-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 4:4.2.1-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I have dist-upgraded my system 30 minutes ago. ** Also affects: gwenview (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "screenshot-accent-bug-03.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24152860/screenshot-accent-bug-03.png -- KDE4 applications can't open files whose names contain accented letters https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
