Hi I just upgraded from intrepid release to jaunty alpha 6 and now experience a similar problem. Whenever I start downloading a large file the wireless connection drops and the network manager eventually reconnects to the wireless network after some seconds. In the meantime the connection is (naturally) broken.
Below is a dump of lshw -C network: *-network description: Ethernet interface product: NetXtreme BCM5752M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express vendor: Broadcom Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: p...@0000:02:00.0 logical name: eth0 version: 02 serial: 00:16:36:83:66:f9 size: 100MB/s capacity: 1GB/s width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm vpd msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=tg3 driverversion=3.94 duplex=full firmware=5752m-v3.22 ip=172.xx.xx.xx latency=0 link=yes module=tg3 multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=100MB/s *-network description: Wireless interface product: PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: p...@0000:03:00.0 logical name: wmaster0 version: 02 serial: 00:18:de:02:e1:0d width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list logical ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes driver=iwl3945 latency=0 module=iwl3945 multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11abg Please note that we are using the very same DSL router (Fritzbox 7270) with different computers (inluding Win XP, Win Vista and, previously on my laptop, Ubuntu Intrepid and the connection does not break with these systems. Please also note that this problem does not occur if I use a cable connection instead. In the router's activity log I can see that my laptop connects and - after starting a large download at high speed - eventually an "authentication failure" is logged. Maybe this helps?! ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- Wireless connection lost during heavy network load. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190144 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
