Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ldm
Using Ubuntu 8.04.2 / ldm 5.0.40~bzr20080212-0ubuntu4 As noted in Debian bug #471793: "the open event is executed as user root, while the close event is executed as the non-privileged user logging in" This affects pam modules such as pam mount, where when logging out, a users shares fail to unmount because the non-privileged user can't unmount. At least I think this is why. Case: User logs into a thin client. Remote is mounted using pam_mount. User logs out, pam_mount attempts to unmount the share, share fails to unmount. lock file is left in /var/run/pam_mount. This does not happen when logging in directly to the machine, or via SSH. Only when logging in on a thin client via ldm. ** Affects: ldm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ldm seems to handle pam events on logout as non-root. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345718 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
