I may have the cause, but not the reason why my display goes berserk from time to time. I have two Windows utilities; PopTray and a Weather Network applet which I have been running under Wine in the system tray. Upon launching, the display flashes ghosts of icons or whatever else is on the desktop very briefly then stops. Later the display problem recurs more frequently. Both items update themselves; Poptray looks for mail every 10 minutes and the applet changes when the outdoor temperature changes.
I have not launched Poptray or Weather Network since around 14:00 GMT -5 and have not experienced any display issues. Perhaps this also explains why no one else has reported the issue. -- My laptop monitor flashes periodically since Xorg update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/339200 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
