I've experienced this bug and, in my opinion it is quite bad, as it toally crashes my computer to the point of needing a reset. For me, it seems to be present when /dev/seq isn't there. Hence running the sudo modprobe snd_seq before running zynaddsubfx fixes the issue for me. Can someone confirm that this is true?
