The problem with the GTK file chooser is that for user coming from windows, they not only wonder why the picker is different, but also why the shortcuts are no more here... And I must say, even for me it cost a lot of time to search for the right folder on gtk picker, when I've configured all the shortcurts I need under KDE... To manage "my places" on both is also not a good solution...
