I don't think the problem lies in xfce, but in gtk+. I noticed that recent gtk+ versions crashes with some icon themes.
The fact that changing the icon theme crashes all the apps proves that the problem lies in a common part of all apps, ie gtk+. Removing the config dir just restores the defaults values, and thus the default icon theme. To be precise, I think you just have to remove the line : <option name="Net/IconThemeName" type="string" value="??????"/> from the ~/.config/xfce4/mcs_settings/gtk.xml I could be wrong, but I'm not sure there is much that can be done about that at xfce level. I would be interesting to try with gnome, if you can, as gnome uses gtk+ too. -- Changing icon theme crashes Xfce4 (Xubuntu Edgy) https://launchpad.net/bugs/77445 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
