Public bug reported:

I have found that there is a process called 'plasma' that seems to have
a memory leak. When I start up my machine it takes about 4.6% of memory
(total memory 2G) and after about a day it take 30+%.

At kde4 startup:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
4132 kees 20 0 792m 85m 31m S 2 4.6 0:09.52 plasma

After a day of so:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
12492 kees 20 0 1307m 501m 16m S 9 27.0 39:52.74 plasma

Restarting the X-server does not make a difference, the process persists
(and keeps growing). I normally have to reboot to reclaim the memory.

This is on Kubuntu 9.04 Alpha 5, 64 bit, with the latest updates.
Running on a amd64 machine with 2G of memory.

My desktop keeps hanging as well, as reported here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-meta/+bug/337632
I am not sure that is related, but it could be, so I thought I better mention
it.
