Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pidgin
On July 1, 2008 and March 9, 2009, ICQ bumped the required protocol version to connect to its servers, USers of Pidgin saw the message "The client version you are using is too old. Please upgrade at http://pidgin.im/". Many people was confused by this instruction, because on http://pidgin.im/ was no ubuntu packet availible. The ubuntu's Pidgin should replace this message with an ubuntu specific instruction like: "The client version you are using is too old. Please install all availible ubuntu updates. Details on https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-mini/+bug/340151" ** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- confusing error message on icq errors #340151 and #244591 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343348 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
