1) Update distribution version from 8.04 to 8.10.
2) Pressing Fn+F4 to cause the computer to suspend.
3) A special keycode seems to be generated, since emacs complains about having 
no binding for <XF86Sleep>, but other than that, nothing. (Same did 
occasionally have time to show up in 8.04 before screen blank during suspend)

Suspend functionality itself does work, via the power manager applet
menu.
