I can confirm... it sounds terrible. But on my other computer is sounds fine. It seems that my snd-hda-intel sound driver has the issue. Further examination shows that if I record something with adacity it works fine. When I try to record again with one track already recorded that second one is very low soundings. I can play an mp3 with totem-xine and record without issue. To me... it sounds like a full duplex sound issue. I have regrettibly moved to skype for my conversations for the time being, until it gets fixed. I can give you any information you need including a saved mp3 of my recording to show you what it sounds like.
