I have a similar problem starting Feb, 2009. My problem is that whenever TB and evolution check for new emails automatic and actually found new emails on the server, the program crush. The symptom is that the screen suddenly turn black and then the ubuntu login screen show up within a few seconds. I have to login in again and all the information on unfinished work disappeared.
