More importantly it is an unfriendly solution, if Ubuntu is to cater to the common non-geek then this obstacle for using ones system and hardware has to be corrected.
It is not my system, I can deal with writing things on the command line, it is my computer-inept brother's system and he can not deal with this, he is one of the common non-geeks. From what he has observed from me using Ubuntu and other Linux distributions, he likes it but this kind of problems makes his believes in Linux being a good system to use falter. Luckily I run dual-boot so I'll make sure to try the suggestion above. Still I can not emphasize enough, automounting without any problems whatsoever is essential for the experience of the common non-geek. -- Automount of maxtor 300GB Extern USB HDD failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340218 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
