Status in “xine-lib� source package in Ubuntu: Fix Released

Bug description:
The bug in the xine update triggers a bug in dpkg.

If you encountered this problem and dpkg is refusing to install/remove package 
now (sudo
dpkg --configure -a no longer working), please try the following and let me 
know if that
fixes the problem:

1.     wget
https://edge.launchpad.net/%7Emvo/+archive/ppa/+files/dpkg_1.14.20ubuntu6.1_i386.deb
2.     dpkg -i dpkg_1.14.20ubuntu6.1_i386.deb
- verify that it installs correctly and runs some pending trigger actions
- run "sudo dpkg --configure -a" and verify that this works without error

Please let me know if that fixes the issue for you. The dpkg bug is described
