I think I've hit a different issue in the ipw2200 driver that comes with
intrepid. All of the other bugs I've read here seem to document various
firmware issues. I am not receiving any firmware related errors in
dmesg. Recently, my ipw2200 box takes almost exactly 100 seconds to
bring up link. Once the link comes up, the connection performs fine and
is reasonably reliable. The machine has a wired eth0 and a wireless
eth1.
The machine in question is a media PC that has eth1 statically
configured for my home wireless network and eth0 set to manual
configuration (and unused). Note the very long delay at the end:
