Public bug reported: I do not know which existing bug I am seeing, the various reports seem contradictory. so, sorry if this is a known/understood bug, I could not definitively find it... I am trying jaunty because of some xcb bug in intrepid caused periodic crashes of firefox, and occasionally other progs. (actually, I found intrepid to be about the most problematic ubuntu release, and was eager to move on) unfortunately, I am seeing a more problematic issue on jaunty, which I hope I might help resolve. basically the screen stops updating and does not accept input, but the mouse still moves, and the keyboard works, at least to switch consoles/zap x... also kb lights continue to work. beyond that, everything continues to run fine. actually, I may be seeing 2 seperate issues, because I started a vnc server, and sometimes I can log in and move the mouse (no input), and sometimes not. posssibly when I attached w/ vnc the screen continued updating also, dont remember. anyway, currently, the screen is stuck (clock displays lock-time), and I am running ubuntu-bug via ssh. dont know which logs this includes, please ask for any clarification. I should note at least I am using radeon driver, which is working fine otherwise. on intrepid I used fglrx. I have no idea if this is a bug w/ radeon, hal, evdev, acpi, some desktop app. so far I have only tried changing to radeonhd, but didnt use it for long as I could not get the res right.
