Hi,
I tried to view the logs in my system because of a crash, but just happened to
notice that /var/log/messages* was not updated for more than a month !!! So, I
am unable to get more information about the crash.
Could you please help me in finding out and fixing the problem with the
logs not getting updated?
$ date
Thu Mar 5 01:40:23 IST 2009
$ ls -ltr /var/log/messages*
-rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 32314 2008-12-18 18:33 /var/log/messages.3.gz
-rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 90580 2009-01-06 15:01 /var/log/messages.2.gz
-rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 41201 2009-01-13 15:33 /var/log/messages.1.gz
-rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 295311 2009-01-20 01:05 /var/log/messages.0
-rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 149591 2009-01-23 00:22 /var/log/messages
