I am unsure if this is the appropriate place to post, but I have encountered the same bug in Jaunty, even with up to date PPA packages. vpnc seems to work from the command line just fine, but the network manager applet continually gives a "The VPN connection 'XXXX' failed because there were no valid vpn secrets", despite using the exact same values.
