I can confirm this on 8.10 i386 using :
* thunderbird 2.0.0.19+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1
* lightning-extension 0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
Creating such an event really makes sense. Now, it's up to the
developers to decide! Maybe this bug has to be reported upstream?
