Ok, I think I managed to fix it. What I did I go into the synaptic package manager, and delete the package linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic. It was labeled as installed (?). I removed it along with everything dependent on it, and ran the following commands in a shell:
apt-get clean aptitude update aptitude install linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic (last line is a bit different since the package was no longer installed, it had to be installed and not re-installed). It worked as intended and I no longer have the problem. Hope this helps :-) -- unable to install (via synaptic) the package called: linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327279 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
