When you say freezes do you mean total computer freeze, or just keyboard and mouse lock ? E.g. does movie freezes or sound from audacious stop when it happens ? I found some threads linking the former to variable frequnency kernel driver and maybe HDMI audio. I compiled a latest kernel 2.8.28 and avoid using native sound card (that by the way does not sound). But i didn't leave out cpufreq driver.
