Public bug reported: Alsa 1.0.14-rc1 should be merged in Feisty tree as it introduces bugfixes for Conexant HD audio chipsets (present in the latest HP Pavillion notebooks). Conexant users now can't use nor headphones nor microphones and don't have all the correct sliders in alsamixer.
Taken among the many changes from the alsa-project.org changelog for version 1.0.14-rc1: - hda-codec - Add missing array to conexant driver This patch adds a missing array to the conexant driver. - Add Conexant audio support to the HD Audio driver This driver adds limited support for the Conexant 5045 and 5047 HD Audio codecs. Some issues still need to be resolved. The code is based primarily on code from the Analog Devices AD1981 support and the Realtek ALC260 support. Some code came from the original code developed by Alex Pototskiy (see alsa bugtracker 2485). ** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Alsa in Feisty should be upgraded to 1.0.14-rc1 to handle headphones and other issues with Conexant HD Audio chips https://launchpad.net/bugs/76741 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
