Okay I finally found a solution Its know as a 'bad state' error, theres quite a bit on HP site
I fixed it via this website http://home.no/slazz/nx7400/#badstate You need to unload the psmouse module in the shutdown script, its all detailed in there, I tried it and it worked! Hooray!!
